Haruko Kurihara

The ocean ecosystems are now highly threatened by climate change including ocean warming and ocean acidification and other local stressors such as eutrophication and sedimentation.

My research interest is to understand how marine organisms and ecosystem will respond to those global and local environmental change.

In our lab we conduct ecological field works, water carbon chemistry and water quality measurements, and tank experiments for the aim of understanding the multiple stress impacts on the coastal ecosystem including reef ecosystem.

From those scientific knowledge will contribute for better future prediction and  management and conservation strategies of coastal and reef ecosystem.
